protected sea turtle area!
Sea turtles are reptiles. That means: 1)cold-blooded 2)backbones 3)lungs 4)scales A sea turtle has flippers and regular turtles have legs and claws instead of flippers. Regular turtles do not have good hearing, but sea turtles DO. Both turtles have scutes. A sea turtle is a marine creature, that means it ONLY lives in salt water. Regular turtles go in the water SOMEtimes but also go on land. Alot of times they have webbed feet and stuff. All turtles are different. Sea turtles ONLY go out on land to lay eggs. Lizard hands?
Chameleons are lizards. They are reptiles. They are cold blooded. They don't have stretchy skin, they have scales. Their scales help it from bruises and bumps. They don't nurse their babies because they don't have fur. Only things with fur nurse. Their babies comes out of eggs that the females lay. The female lays down to look smaller and the male is bigger with bright colors. They can change colors faster than you can even change clothes. Some lizards have bumpy spikes along their back like dinosaurs used to have. And some have a big thing on their head that looks like a mountain. frog swamp
Frogs and toads are not reptiles, they are amphibians. That means they live in water then on land. You don't have to be confused about the difference between frogs and toads. Frogs have wet skin and long hind legs so they can jump rather than hopping. Toads have drier, rough skin. They have shorter legs so they hop rather than jump. They don't have as big webbed feet because they only swim for short. Frogs don't have warm blood, they are cold-blooded. When it's really, really cold, they hibernate. They have to dig really deep where it's kind of moist and warmer. And when it starts to get warm they come out of hibernation. Lonesome George didn't have any food!
( the last Pinta Island Saddleback Tortoise )The men saved him and brought his to a new home where he can try to mate. But no one has found the same kind for him to mate with. People think he is the lastest one. When George dies, he will be extinct, all gone. Right now, he is safe in his new home. The men were shooting all the goats because it was not good for them to be there. They were eating all of George's food. This makes me feel a little bit sad. Spider Mood
Spiders are arachnids not insects. Spiders have two parts. Its front part is called cephalothorax, and the back is called its abdomen. In the back are the things that make the silk. (spinnerets) Insects (like flies) have 3 body parts: the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. Flies have wings, spiders NEVER have wings. Usually insects do. Also spiders have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 legs and they have 8 eyes, just like they have 8 legs. Some spiders don't use webs, but some other spiders do. The ones that don't use webs, they HUNT for prey. ( SPIDERS! )Spiders eat their old silks! It's just like reduce, reuse, recycle!! HA HA HAAAAA!!! Spiders are very important things to our world. They help us by eating bugs. Even bugs in our house! Butterfly Flew
The following conversation took place just moments ago: JOEY: Hey, Mamma?! LISA: Yes? JOEY: I'm in THE MOOOOOOD! LISA: in the mood for what? JOEY: I'm in the mood for LIVEJOURNAL so here we go! After the eggs hatch, they start as caterpillars- tiny ones. Then they ate and ate until they became fat caterpillars. They eat milkweed leaves. Caterpillar skin is not stretchy like ours is. So when they grow they have to change skin. And they like to eat their old skins! And then they turn into a chrysalis. Then it becomes a darkened chrysalis- that means it's TIME! When the butterfly comes out, the old chrysalis looks like glass. The butterfly has to hang on to the chrysalis to let its wings dry. (We don't have wings.) After their wings dry out, they stretch them out and fly to a warm place like Mexico. Butterflies are beautiful you know. They have many different colors. They can surprise you. They can flap, flap, flap and even SCARE you! MOTHS make cacoons, not butterflies. When moths come out of their cacoons they are moths. Moths sleep during the day and come out at night so they are noctural. We're not nocturnal, we're diurnal. That means we come out during the day and sleep at night. kickin' fly!
That dragonfly in the mushroom pool this morning TRIED to get out, but it was just flopping everywhere and couldn't swim. I saw it, but I was too scared. Somebody else got it out and let it go. It was REALLY big and it was green. It had four wings. It had six legs because it was an insect. An insect is a really a bug, not just an animal. We like seeing that kind of thing, but I was just too scared of it. I don't like being around that kind of thing. I do like to see it though. It's just that when it was flopping around, it scared me. I really miss you guys very much and I really love ya'll very much but usually I just miss you too much. I like visiting with ya'll and I really love having dinner with ya'll. I like to come to your house also. Now we've sold our old house and we moved to a new house. The movers came and packed up our stuff and they moved it here. We like our neighborhood and what we do is eat dinner and be boring. Just kidding! No what I usually do is write my name and play upstairs in the playroom and sometimes Jackie does also. Really, I like to play with Jackie because I like to play "spin around" with her. She doesn't know how to play that though, but I'm doing it right now! After I eat dinner here, I read story then I go to bed. We have a garden in our back yard now! Daddy built a compost box and it is going to turn to dirt for our plants to eat. That is very good for the plants because they like to eat that kind of thing. It is very good for them. They like to drink water too. We have strawberries and tomato and I don't know the rest! I help pour the water in and also I help feed the garden. When we went to Fernbank yesterday, there was this thing, that when they turned all the lights on, the star lights came on, but they didn't show us the planets. They showed us lots of stars though. We also learned what can happen when people litter. Litter means when someone threw their trash outside instead of in the trash can. When we were at Fernbank, there was a thing that showed us litter and how it hurts ducks. They showed a pretend duck that was dead because of the litter in its pond. Then they showed another pond where the pretend ducks were not dead because there wasn't litter. I also got to hear bees fly and turn something on to smell bees and it smelled very yucky! That was their nest! I looked at a poster that showed bees growing up. It starts as an egg it almost turns to a pupa before it's a grown-up. After that we went to the forest. We went to Aunt Jackie's house for Thanksgiving and we ate a dinner turkey. We had SO MUCH fun! Baby Jackie was trying to get under a chair while we were at Aunt Jackie's house. I watched my movies in the car: Happy Elf and Polar Express. And I had Santa Clause and Mr. McGoo and Frosty the Snowman. We decorated for Christmas when we got home. We put up the Christmas tree and put the ornaments on then we put the train around it after we put the tracks up. Today we're learning about the MAYFLOWER!
The Pilgrims went to America because the king wouldn't let them worship God in their own way. The Pilgrims were on the ship sailing on the ocean. It was stormy and crowded and they had to eat some yucky food. The children were a little bit scared. I'm afraid of storms too. One day a man looked over the edge of the ship and pointed his finger and said, "LAND HO!!!" The men were full of guns because they didn't know the area. They were afraid that there were fierce animals and fearless Indians. They had a long Winter at Plymouth and only some of the people lived, the other people died. I give Thanks!
When I was at preschool today we had a WONDERFUL party! We had turkey meat, applesauce, mashed potatoes, corn, and apple juice. We were celebrating Thanksgiving. It was a big ole party. And when it was time go we all got M&Ms. We all wore the Indian hats that we made to the party. It has leaves on it. We made it with a big line, then we put glue on there to make the sticky leaves get on there. Then we put the feathers on there later. Thanksgiving is a time for having parties and M&Ms and Indian hats. Those are really really special things. M&Ms are kind of a treat, but they're only M&Ms. Thanksgiving is really about being with friends and giving thanks. We should always give thanks. Ms. Lisa said, "1, 2, 3" and we all said, "THANKS!!!" to all the mommas because they cooked all that yummy food for us at school and I LOVED it. Then we said grace. I am thankful for my parents and God and Jesus, but Jesus and God are way up in heaven and I can't see them because they are in heaven. But they also go anywhere we go. When we go to Bruster's, or church, or Mom's practice, or me playing, God and Jesus are with us. I'm thankful for my Thanksgiving decorations: I'm thankful for the turkey on the door and the cornucopias. That's all I need to say. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOoo tired. MOSES DID A BAD THING!
We read the Bible and we learned that Moses did a BAD THING!!! We saw Moses doing some bad things! Then, that man, Pharoah, did NOT listen to Moses and Aaron, so he had to get boo-boos all over him. We've just been sitting in our chairs around here. Some of you people don't get to see me. Some of you live far far away. Yui is moving away. I'm gonna miss her. I drew her a special picture. Halloween is over. We want to do Thanksgiving now! Elizabeth still has not decorated for Thanksgiving. She still has her jack-o-lanterns. Now it's time to do Thanksgiving, guys! Time to do Thanksgiving!!! Ms. Ruthie decorated for Thanksgiving. Now I want to talk about our Thanksgiving books. Our Thanksgiving books are a little bit different: they are true stories! Some are pretend though. A long, long time ago the black spiderman got killed and it was Halloween. But now that Halloween is over, it's time to put the Halloween stuff away. Thanks for knowing that! Happy Halloween, Everyone!
I'm writing this because I want to get lots of emails. My behavior was unacceptable this morning and Mom had to punish me. Today I went trick-or-treating at school with my bat bag I made. Then we went back in the school for our Halloween party!! Tonight I'm going to eat pumpkin chili for dinner. Then I'm going to put on my spooooooooooooooooky costume and go trick-or-treating in Caiden's neighborhood. We're all gonna get on our costumes and get on the hayride and the hayride is going to take us all around the neighborhood! We're going to have a FANTASTIC time!!!!!
